Wacoal & Nuffnang‘s event was held last Wednesday, June 12, 2013 (Independence Day!) at Newport Cinema 2, Resorts World Manila. It was a Surprise Movie Screening but I already have an idea that it will be Man of Steel.

The event was full of surprises. Movie Tickets, Wacoal’s Online Vouchers, Free Popcorn & Coke!!! Yay!  Thank you so much Wacoal Philippines for the awesome movie experience. The movie was really great! A perfect way to end summer vacation because it was my first day of school the next day, June 13, 2013.

I miss doing a What’s in my Bag post. I took the photos last month (April 2013) but I’ve been busy with lots of stuffs lately like reading, eating, reading and eating and reading so I didn’t have a chance to post it last month.  Anyway, I’ve been receiving comments, emails and tweets from my lovely readers and surprisingly from my favorite authors… Thank you guys for reading my book reviews and for encouraging me to read and write more. Okay! Let’s start….

Since it’s summer I don’t need a huge bag for my stuffs and I don’t like carrying a lot of things during this season. So I always use this bag because it’s very hand-carry and it compliments with the clothes that I wear. (This is from my Mom actually. Thanks Ma! )

Sunnies – It’s Summer! This is a Summer must have.
Roxy Wallet – I used to have one from Accessorize but it’s quite big and it takes a lot of space inside my bag so I decided to use a small one from Roxy.
Keys- House, Gate & Car. PS, I don’t drive yet.
Earphones – Beats by Dr. Dre (I got it free because of my cellphone)
Cellphone – HTC Sensation XL with Dr. Dre beats. I only use my phone for emergency. I don’t text or call people that much unless I have something important to say. I’m not a big fan of texting. I always use my phone for social media apps and of course for Reading. This is where I usually read ebooks.
Perfume, Alcohol, SOS & Bioderm – For my hygiene. 
BB Pact, Nyx Lippie (from OneStopShoppe) & Paper Poudre (from Beauty Habit) – I highly recommend using Paper Poudre especially if you have oily skin.

This is my Summer-what’s-in-my-bag-must-haves. So what’s in your bag?

You can’t really die from a broken heart, right? For Brie, the harsh reality is that you can and she does. Brie was expecting a magical date with her boyfriend Jacob. Instead what she gets is a shocking and painful truth: Jacob isn’t in love with her. Brie literally dies from a broken heart. She wakes to find herself stranded in the Slice. A pizza place that she frequented with her family. Except that she seems to be stuck in some bizarre pizza parlor afterlife. Her new companions are a woman obsessed with crosswords, a few other kids and a handsome boy in a leather jacket named Patrick who volunteers to be her guide. Brie struggles to accept her death and clings to her past. She watches her friends and family move on without her and learns some startling secrets, but sometimes things are not as they seem. Brie is in for more heartache and pain, but perhaps there may be a silver lining. Will she find peace and move on, or be stuck in limbo at the Slice for eternity?

CAPITAL W-O-W! WOW! I love this book! It was so much better than I thought it would be. It was everything I wanted and nothing like I expected all at the same time. I read it for 4 straight hours (and 35 minutes) . I flew through the pages easily and quickly with a big grin on my face.

If this happens in real life, I think 80% of the population would go down. I was shocked when I read that Brie died because her heart was broken, literally. I, myself, was also diagnosed with a heart disease when I was 15 years old (it was December 9. I will never forget that day) and my heart got broken into pieces by a good-looking-jerk-face-wicked-self-centered-douchebag a couple of times, but not literally and I apologize for giving him an awesome introduction… not. Sorry, I’m not sorry! Back to my review, Brie didn’t died because of Heart Murmur. She died because her heart was literally broken into pieces by a guy and was later on recognized of having a Broken-Heart Syndrome. I wonder if that’s real. It seems legit.

“The problem is there’s absolutely nothing ‘fun’ about falling in love. Nope. Mostly it just makes you feel sick and crazy and anxious and nervous that it’s going to end miserably and ruin your whole life.

And guess what: Then it does.”

It’s absolutely nothing ‘fun’ when you fall for the wrong one. Right? And no, I’m not bitter. I may sometimes sound like I am, but no, I’m not. I’m better now, not bitter.    You can easily relate to the story that’s why I kinda feel like sharing things about me while writing this review.

With Patrick’s help, Brie will have to pass through the five stages of grief before she’s ready to move on. But how do you begin again, when your heart is still in pieces?

Can I just acknowledge the awesomeness of Patrick Darling? Please?  I’ve always liked the name Patrick. I think it’s cute. I remember I used to have crushes on guys named Patrick. Omg! Why am I spilling it here?! I think I will include Patrick in my list of crushes.

1. Patrick *insert last name here* – A celebrity.
2. Patrick *insert last name here* – Not a celebrity.
3. Patrick Darling – A beautiful fictional character. *dies*

LOL! They all have two things in common: 1. Name 2. Hotness. *Dies. Again* It’s like I’m Colin from John Green’s book: An abundance of Katherines. He dated 19 girls with the same name – Katherine. Anyway, Patrick from the book is way too wonderful and beautiful from my ex-crushes. I love his humor. His jokes makes me laugh out loud. His character made the book so interesting. The moment he’s in the picture you get the feeling that there’s something more to him than the funny, cocky, brash over-confident boy. Getting to know him is when most of the fun took place. He takes on Brie with all of her anger and faults and handles her with extreme patience. He helped Brie in dealing with the 5 Stages of moving on:  Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Sadness and Acceptance. Okay, I need to stop here. I’m sorry, I’m not in the mood to talk about the other characters. I’m having a lot of Patrick feels right now. Wait, I’ll end my ‘Patrick Darling’ post with 2 photos that I imagined him.

I always wonder if there is life after death and Jess Rothenberg did a great masterpiece in giving me an idea about it. This book is definitely awesome. It will make you cry, swoon, and laugh out loud.  It’s one of the most funniest book that I’ve ever read. A roller-coaster read, indeed. Love isn’t easy, but in the end it is worth the journey. I appreciated the beautiful and complex message of this bittersweet ghost story.

I will give a rating of 4.5/5 stars. I love it though I got a bit dizzy over a few chapters before the ending, it’s like I’m in a roller coaster ride and all I can say is, “Huh? What?” but nonetheless, it was worth it and amazing. Kudos to Jess Rothenberg for an incredible book! I like the last sentence that she said on her acknowledgements:

“No matter how much you think you know a person – no matter how pretty they act, or how popular they seem, you can never know what their lives are really like.”

I know how people hate spoilers so I will not spoil everything except for the fact that the movie was amazing! You definitely need to watch it (Because Chris Pine is awesome, that’s why. PS: I have a huge crush on him). 

The movie deserves a rating of 5/5. I will not make a movie review about it because I didn’t go there as a Blogger and I can’t gather my thoughts right now because I’m too happy & tired (and a bit sleepy) at the same time. Sorry!

I read this book for 3 straight hours because when I started reading it, I can’t put it down. I don’t really believe in Love at first Sight but this book had me swooning and grinning for 3 hours and 21 minutes. Hahaha!  I think the swooning part is more than 3 hours. 

The Statistical Probability of the World’s Longest Book Title Love At First Sight

(TSPLFS. Omg! the abbreviation is also loooooong  ) The book is sweet, funny and enjoyable to read. I didn’t even realize how quickly I was flipping through the pages. Although, I already assumed that the story will be a bit cliché and the ending is quite predictable (duh, of course they will end up together). But the story didn’t disappoint me.

Hadley and Oliver’s story will make you believe that true love finds you when you’re least expecting it.

Hadley & Oliver met each other at the airport and they lived happily ever after. The End.  Ugh! I need to gather my thoughts first. This book gave me a lot of feels that’s why I can’t put my awesome thoughts into words. I really suck at summarizing stories because I always end up spoiling it . But…. I will still try so please bear with me.  Again. Hadley and Oliver met at the airport. Hadley missed her flight because she’s four minutes late and the last thing that she wants to do is to get on a plane to London and attend her Dad’s wedding. She doesn’t like the idea of his Dad marrying another woman and she hated her Mom for convincing her to attend the event. She felt miserable and alone while waiting in the terminal to catch the next flight but that four-minutes changed everything. He met Oliver, a charming guy who helped her with her luggage when she accidentally dropped her things. She found out he’s on the same flight and they end up eating in the airport together, sparking up a connection. Hadley thinks that once they get on the plane they’ll be sitting apart and this will be the last she talks to Oliver. But they end up sitting right next to each other, on the plane, and talk the whole time, (minus a few naps waking up on one or the other’s shoulder!) forming a mutual attraction. They have a few moments like this one that makes your heart speed up.

I loved the story. The Characters are beautifully portrayed though I don’t like their names because I don’t think it’s catchy and cute. I honestly skipped some parts about Hadley’s drama with her family though I’m glad that it went well in the end. I’m just really into Hadley & Oliver’s sweetness/romance/cute conversations/love story/drama/slash everything about them. At first I thought the story is predictable but it’s not. Kudos to Jennifer Smith for writing a beautiful novel that had me swooning and wishing for a guy like Oliver. Hahaha! I suddenly want to experience something like Hadley & Oliver’s story. Not a love at first-sight-kind-of-story but a beginning of something beautiful. Something that they had. Even if the story just happened for 24-hours Jennifer Smith will assure you that a lot can happen in 24 hours. A LOT of beautiful things. So don’t waste your time on something that is not worth it. I didn’t regret reading this book and I highly recommend it. The Statistical Probability of love at First Sight deserves 4-5 stars. And I’d love to give this book a rating of 5/5. Why? Because Oliver got me at “I’m studying the fermentation process of mayonnaise”  PS. I don’t like mayonnaise.
